Carmelo is the Founder and CEO of Apex Capital Management, LLC, a firm specializing in real estate, distressed credit, and private equity. He directs the firm’s data-driven investment strategies, leveraging a background in mathematics and computer science to drive Apex’s rapid expansion and management of assets across the United States and Europe.

Carmelo’s career is defined by his ability to identify emerging opportunities and engineer creative solutions. He was an early investor in foundational blockchain technologies, such as Ethereum. Moreover, during the COVID-19 pandemic, he helped lead the research and development of a ventilator multiplexer to address critical equipment shortages in Italy, which further underscores his commitment to impactful problem-solving and ingenuity.

Beyond business, he has a strong commitment to civil service, as he led an effort to develop a more efficient resource distribution model for the underprivileged in Sicily, and in recognition of his public service, Carmelo received a commendation from the President of the Italian Senate.

He holds a B.A. in Mathematics from Cornell University, graduating cum laude with distinction.
